Community Work

After thirty plus years of community theatre and friendship, we love to share what we have learnt on this journey and have met some incredible people from various NGOs who do great community work.

Bootcamp with an Active NGO

  •  U-turn Ministeries takes homeless people through a two-year life-changing programme.  We adapted our Be an Actor for a Day© experience for their boot-camp.  We had fun with our players who came away with improved self-confidence and some new skills too.

“One of the most amazing things for me to see was the shyest of shy individuals coming out of their shell and blowing us away with their humour, acting skills and confidence!”  – Joanne de Goede, Occupational Therapist

Show Concept with a Local High School

  • Muizenberg High School wanted a show to celebrate their 120 years of existence.  After researching, scripting,  auditioning and rehearsing, we were ready for performance. Our 30 learners enjoyed every aspect of their theatre experience and had an unforgettable time on the stage.

“This is the best thing that has happened to me in my life” – Khanyisa, Grade 8

  • Evergreen Lifestyle Village – Enjoyed a  two-hour lunchtime session with us.  These faces say it all.  The “peas and carrots” game where all sorts of emotions are shared without using words that make sense is a real hit.

We work with seniors as well as youth – our flexible programme is adjusted to suit any age group.   It is so rewarding to see the joy that creativity and performance bring to all.

Contact us and let’s bring some more joy.
